Hotel Taj Exotica, Goa, India is a Luxurious Family Getaway

We are not the party and the shack and the night at the beach kind of people. Yes, that makes us a very boring couple when headed for Goa, India. Yet we go back to this small little town that smells of all good things Portuguese, again and again. Years ago in a different lifetime before kids, I have really seen the party animal called Goa. This was during Adfest (advertising festival with everything on the house and on the rocks) but I never fell in love with Goa, until this October. In full day-time, without getting high and along with my twins. You heard that right, my holiday at Hotel Taj Exotica, Goa was nothing short of a Familymoon!

KetchupMoms’s Rating: 4/5
The Property: Taj Exotica, Goa

Ambience: Taj Exotica is a little island in itself. It has a clean little beach, where you can catch ‘Fishing’ in its full glory, if you are an early riser that is. The entire property is spread out like a long cycling carpet, so gear up for some fun pedalling. It kept our kids busy and we had fun catching up with them. Although the resort is more than happy to pick you up and drop you off in their golf buggy from the main building to your villas, you seldom use it. And believe me on these walks you will have the great company of beautiful flowers, chirping birds and golf players at the 9-hole golf course at Taj Exotica.

Also as we visited Goa towards the end of October, the weather was fairly out-door friendly. So we strolled around, cycled around and rest of the time we turned into mermaids, yes all four of us. They have a separate pool for the kids with a water slide in it too.

Taj Exotica Special: Our twins are 4 years old, so we booked a Sunset plunge pool villa. The room was beautiful and its attached private pool overlooking the golf course and the sea made it special, private and really fun for us as a family. Kids loved playing dolphins and we loved the tan afterwards.

KetchupMoms- holiday in India, Taj holidays, Luxury, kids holidays, beach resortsApart from the cycling and the kids’ play area and the film show every day, the kids really looked forward to the evening entertainment programmes arranged by the hotel. It was Salsa one day, African dancers another and illusionist yet another day. Taj Exotica people have planned it out so well, that you will be happy to stay within this Mediterranean-style property by the Arabian Sea, throughout the day.

Food: People who are familiar with Goa as the place to holiday in India are aware of all the great food joints across town. However with all the fun we were having within the Taj Exotica, we only stepped out once for a meal at Martin’s Corner (more on this food mecca of Goa in another post). So we enjoyed meals at their in-house restaurants. Although we ended up trying only two, keeping our kids KetchupMoms- holiday in India, Taj holidays, Luxury, kids holidays, beach resortsfavourites in our mind.

MIGUEL ARCANJO: This is where you eat designer food. Yes no kidding, thankfully it tasted great too.

EUGENIA: This is where you enjoy a buffet breakfast or dinner. They have a different spread every night. The spread is decent and the food is nice.

Child-friendly: If you are travelling around India with kids, choose this 5 star property and have a blast. Things our kids enjoyed a lot at Taj Exotica, Goa: Cycling, private pool, kid’s play area, film shows, kid’s activity centre, evening entertainment, beach visits and food.

I don't have kids, but I love that you travel with your kids and don't care that much. And especially, that you don't stay in Europe, US or Canada or something like this. My sister is a little "coward" and doesn't travel a lot or far with her kids (5 and 8 years old)....

Never been to Goa, but would like to visit someday. I'm also jealous of your Sunset plunge pool villa, it's my dream to stay in a place with a private pool!

An island in itself! Wow. Goa being my native place I never get to stay at hotels. But your post has surely inspired me to ditch my family for once and be there :p! Loved your pictures! :)

I have been here some years back and my kids loved their kid's play room. Infact, I could leave them under care and enjoy my spa in peace. So for families it's a lovely place to sack. Rooms are nice and so many restaurants.

I have been there in 2014. Sea facing rooms are excellent. You can actually get up everyday with the sound of waves lashing the shore. Great Hospitality! They have many entertainment programs which are really lively. Food was great. Being a pure vegetarian, was happy to find myriad veg options. Great swimming pools and indoor games like Billiards, Chess and Archery. Cycling was also great fun.
