Johnny Rockets – good kid’s menu, great music and outstanding shakes

There is nothing like home cooked food for kids. And then there is nothing like a break from that. And although in India we are pretty accepting of jumping and screaming kids, parents in a quiet, sit down restaurant can often feel embarrassed. So when Johnny Rockets opened up with a big bang at the Ambience Mall in Gurgaon, I was smiling ear to ear.

Six visits later I still have only praise for them (except for the one occasion when the waiter didn’t know what she was doing, but to their credit they did not charge us a dime for that meal).

Ambience: Johnny Rockets is American, casual, bright, inviting. Good music with the option of table top Jukeboxes (keeps the kids busy with the alphabets and numbers on it). Every now and then, the Johnny Rockets staff breaks into a jig on their signature song. It’s quite amusing and entertaining for the kids.

Food: There is a kid’s corner on the menu card. You can choose from burgers, sausages and junior shakes. My twins A&I are addicted to the Strawberry Shake there, it is deliciously thick and flavourful.

Special Offer: As of now June 2017, They have an unlimited meal option for just Rs.500. You can order a main, salad, side, shake & desserts. Still better kids from 6 to 9 yrs. of age get charged Rs. 250 for the same. And below 6yrs eat for free. Yes you know where to head for the cousin’s get together.

Service: Friendly, prompt. 5/6 times we have had absolutely nothing to complain about and the kids had their Johnny Rockets’ balloons to carry home.

Price: Prices are a notch higher than McDonalds, KFC etc but then you are served hot food right to your table minus any queues. And if you opt for the unlimited meal at Rs.500 it works out really well.
Kid Friendly: YES. 3/5

My grandchildren love the club sandwiches and the shakes there. Good thing is that there are lots of vegetarian options there
