Kia Seltos Launch

Kia Seltos Compact SUV Launched For India

KIA Seltos was revealed in the much awaited World Premiere in Gurgaon today on 20th, June 2019. It comes close on the heels of MG Motors Hector and Kia's Mother brand Hyundai's Venue launch. Interestingly all three are SUV's. Importantly KIA motors Seltos will be compared to Hyundai's best-selling Creta, Tata Harrier and Renault Duster.

KIA Seltos named after 'Celtos', the son of Hercules in Greek Mythology, looks edgy, strong, stylish and is made especially for the Indian roads. It is sure to be a millennial-heart-stealer. But this vehicle is going to be a favourite with the women and especially new-age tech-savvy moms too.

Why KIA Seltos Is Sure To Woo Women?

- As a mom, to twins, this vehicle seems good for city drive and has ample breathing space to keep them off each other's throat. Also, it has a high ground clearance and that means I am not sinking in the Gurgaon rains anytime soon.

UVO Technology
- In comparison to the latest SUV's launched in India, it is important to mention that KIA Seltos is a fully equipped SUV with connected car technology. Just like Hyundai Venue or MG Hector that in fact was launched as 'The connected SUV', Seltos is a tech-savvy car. The UVO technology helps you manage your SUV both inside-out from vehicle management, navigation to safety & security. So with its 37 connectivity functions, all you need to focus on is driving and your kids.

-In the unfortunate event of the Seltos being stolen, the IRVM will intimate the owner and help immobilise the SUV.

-It also offers the much in demand RSA or road assistance and SOS button that immediately alerts a call centre about an emergency situation.

-As a mother driving through an adventure park called Indian roads, checking safety features is a priority for me. KIA Seltos is equipped with 6 airbags and a host of features that you find in a premium SUV like AlturusG4. It has hill assist control, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera with integrated bind view monitor to navigate through narrow lanes and parking spaces.

-KIA Selos has a razor-sharp look. The front of the vehicle looks edgy with KIA's popular tiger-nose chrome finished a grill, ice-cube fog lamps and attractive DRLs. It has squared off wheel arches and 17-inch interesting alloys and an LED lighting all around.

-It has a host of impressive features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, Bose sound system, Head-up display, automatic climate control, a sunroof, an air purifier, rear AC vents, power-adjustable driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors and ventilated seats ( yes made for Indian roads and weather).

KIA Service

-Also as KIA enters the Indian market with its first launch Seltos, it intends to win the trust of the users through more than 265 KIA touch-points.

- Although the price bracket was not revealed, it is touted to be priced between 11L-17L. Also, it will be available in more than 8 monotones and 5 dual tone exterior options.

-It has on offering the most number of powertrain options and it will enter the market with BS6- compliant engines.

-The vehicle will be available in both petrol and diesel BS6 compliant engines. The customer can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or automatic with CVT, 7-speed DCT or 6 speed AT transmission. As a mom, I need to manoeuvre through Gurgaon roads for kid's school, classes, my work and so on. So I am choosing an automatic transmission for sure.

Gauging from all the vehicles launched in 2019, a compact SUV, is surely what Indian roads and drivers seem to prefer. Technology-driven vehicles with safety alerts, edgy or sporty exteriors and a world of comfort inside is a must. KIA Seltos seems to have it all. Will the drive be an easy or rough one is left to be seen, as this segment is the most competitive with Creta, Venue, Jeep, XUV and MG Hector in the race. So gear up folks!
