Moksha Himalaya Spa Resort
The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page - St. Augustine
Moksha Himalaya Spa Resort was just the luxurious break we three moms deserved. A beautiful green paradise perched on top of a hill, surrounded by tranquillity, beauty and wellness.
The Journey To Moksha
Our journey started from Gurgaon via Delhi. We bypassed Chandigarh and reached Parwanoo by 12.00pm. The highway overall makes for a great drive except for some stretches where repair-work is going on. There are great places to stop-over for a meal-break. We chose Daana Paani. One has an option of eating at Haldiram, Chai Thela or smaller food joints where you get grilled sandwiches, coffee and more. Most importantly this is a place where you find clean washrooms.
Tip- After crossing Ambala look out for a diversion where the road splits into two - Amritsar Highway and Chandigarh Highway. You don’t want to miss this and end up in Amritsar.
Other Ways Of Reaching Moksha
Closest Airport- Chandigarh Airport 30 min. away
Closest Railway Station- Kalka station - 5 min. Away
Chandigarh Station - 20 min. away
On Arrival At The Base
After a smooth 5-hour drive our checking in was even smoother. On reaching Timber Trail (base), a picturesque cable ride took us away from the hustle bustle of the Chandigarh- Shimla highway. The Cable Car is very popular with the tourists but it is complimentary for the in-house guests. One escapes the queues too.
Moksha Himalaya Spa Resort
Once you disembark from the Cable Car, you are overwhelmed by the stunning view of the Shivalik ranges, the dam and city beautiful, Chandigarh.
This Ayurvedic Health Spa sits pretty on an elevation of 5000ft. above sea level. The manicured gardens, flowering beds, crisp fresh breezes, invigorating stone massages, relaxing swims in the breathtakingly beautiful infinity pool, power yoga, trekking to charming villages and delectable gourmet food is what makes Moksha an out of the world experience.
Special Features Of Moksha
-Top of the line luxurious resort of Himachal Pradesh and India.
-A health retreat with tailor-made wellness and fitness programmes.
-Infinity Pool with soul-soothing views.
-State-of-the-art fitness centre.
-Moksha Spa in the clouds with refreshing views, relaxing massages & treatments to rejuvenate your senses.
We were humbled to meet Mr. Ramesh Garg. The owner and the visionary who created not only Moksha but the pilot project Timber Trail Resort and Timber Heights. Mr. Garg gifted Himachal the thrill of Cable Car almost four decades back.
A Holiday Fit For The Royalty
Rooms- There is a lot to choose from -Independent cottages to spacious suites. But if you haven’t experienced Moksha’s Presidential suite you haven’t tasted royal hospitality. Think of it as your family’s Palatial 2 bedroom pad amidst the clouds.
Designed by an international award-winning architect, the suite has an opulent living and dining room with a private bar. The room keeps you warm with a prepossessing fireplace and there is butler service to make your small gatherings impeccable.
At Moksha Himalaya Spa Resort you breathe in nature no matter where you are. The Presidential suite just accentuates that feeling with its private open deck surrounded by rolling hills.
Tip- Enjoy the open-air jacuzzi on your private terrace.
Honestly, at this point, we must chip in that we were living a dream holiday. We could have not asked for anything more. But an equally delicious culinary experience raised the bar
Moksha Restaurant And Bar & Lounge
When you start your morning amidst such green and opulent ambience, it is bound to be good. Add to it the scrumptious buffet spread and mouth-watering bakery delicacies and you just can’t have enough of it.
At night this place transforms magically into a secret hideout in enchanted woods. The mesmerising view of the valley, the plains of Chandigarh and the whispering of deodars give you a different high. The appetising dishes and the interesting concoctions from the Moksha Bar drown you in a pool of bliss.
But. A heavenly experience that still awaited us. Next to the bar and lounge area is a specially designed space for outdoor gatherings. It has glass walls and a starry blue sky for the ceiling. During winters one can enjoy an evening of bonfire here. Just sitting here and doing nothing is the real essence of Moksha.
Activities In And Around
When you are at Moksha Himalaya Spa Resort life takes its own sweet pace. So one can choose to go back to the mundane life and visit close-by attractions like Kasauli Hills and Chandigarh. We, of course, chose to go trekking to a small village near Moksha. The walk downhill was rewarding and when we reached the temple down below we got to eat the local langar or dhaam as they call it. Watching the cable car zipping above us was equally exciting.
When our 2-day retreat at this splendid resort came to an end, we three moms were happy and sad. We felt recharged to face the world and especially embrace our mom life. Yet, a piece of us wanted to keep living the dream called - A holiday in Moksha Himalaya Spa Resort
