Smile, achieve a mile

Smile is a beautiful curve that sets the world straight. The Aesop’s Fables demonstrates this concept through a duel between the sun and the wind as to who is mightier of the two. In this narrative, both the sun and the wind pick up a challenge to show off their power on a wayside traveler with a view to make him remove his cloak. The wind that went first among the two blew in full fury, which only forced the traveler to wrap his cloak tighter and keep himself warm. When the sun’s turn came, he smiled pleasantly at the traveler. The traveler began to feel the heat and slowly removed his cloak to relax. The moral of this widely known fable, illustrates the superiority of persuasion over force; the mood of the traveler could be summarized as:

Harder you blow, tighter I hold
Sweeter you smile, lighter I feel

Smile creates a magic on the receiver. It is a powerful expression that signals a feeling of immediate Smile is a beautiful curve that sets the world straightattention and gives a lot of comfort of being accepted. In a conversation or a gathering, a smile is the first greeting that evokes a quick response and lightens even a charged-up atmosphere. Even when no words follow, the smile from one party is enough for the conversation to get started. We tend to get terribly disturbed when a discussion is not interspersed with an occasional smile. We even do not mind if the person to whom we talk is quiet, but we loathe the person who does not smile. The newborn creates a lot of activity in the household through his sweet smile.

When we retire to bed and recall the happenings of the day, we often remember the people who smiled at us and more importantly who did not. The smile of everyone we meet matters to each one of us since we feel blessed the moment we received it. When we see movies or music shows, we bother to identify the actor, actress or singers who smile or have a smiling face, instead of enjoying the movie or the show. The timeless beauty of yesteryears, Madhubala is remembered to date more for her irresistible, gorgeous, and dazzling smile than her bewitching eyes or mischievous glances. It is not surprising that Madhuri Dixit made millions of dollars, thanks to her famous “million-dollar smile”. Even among Goddesses, we prefer the calm and smiling Parvati to the fierce-looking Kali, though both are known to be one and the same.

If smile is one of our major expectations of every interaction, it is but natural for any other person to expect a similar reciprocation from us too. A natural smile is more welcome than a forced up one. We can smile naturally only when we enjoy every moment of our life. To enjoy every moment of our life, our mind should not be pre-occupied. We then feel free and will be able to remove all the hesitation from smiling. It is very easy for even a small child to make out whether the smile is artificial or cunning. Once we are caught, we even run the fear of losing respect and spontaneity. Smile is the beginning of love.

Keep smiling to be spotted and loved!

The act of smiling activates neural messaging that benefits your health and happiness. ... The feel-good neurotransmitters — dopamine, endorphins and serotonin — are all released when a smile flashes across your face as well. This not only relaxes your body, but it can also lower your heart rate and blood pressure. So psychotherapists advise us to bite into a pencil lengthwise for some time and create a semblance of a smile so that these happy hormones are released.
