The Home Talk DIY Christmas Box for Kids- A Review

December calls in for celebrations all around the world. With a year coming to an end, we not only look forward for another brilliant year with lot of new experiences, but also get excited for the Christmas celebrations and the snow fall. From carols to cakes, Christmas tree decortations to exchanging gifts, family time to party fun, everything peps up the mood.

I found the Home Talk DIY Christmas box subscription.

Each Christmas, is an attempt to do something new for decorations and it lets me look for different options. A Christmas tree in the living room, a star in the balcony and dry fruits soaking in rum are some of the initial steps of my preparations. Well, when elders are busy with eve preparations, kids find it hard to brainstorm on newer things to occupy with. While browsing for ideas, I found the Home Talk DIY Christmas box subscription. It looked very attractive and easy DIY box for children of 5-12 years age group. I ordered for the same and it costs Rs 999; quite decent for the number of item it offers

• One rug
• Two cushion covers
• Green and red colour felt paper
• 500 ml empty coke bottle, one bulb, foam sheet cut-out stars along with small, coloured decorative, heart and leaf cut-outs
• Two dessert jars

The rug (3 feet * 1 feet approx) matches the theme, with green and red shades alternating along with some snowflake prints. It is ideal to place it in a corner or near a fireplace with the decorated tree and gifts along. The sample cut-outs can help children make shapes out of the felt-paper and stick/stitch it on the off-white cushion covers. They can also make other shapes or even a santa-hat with the paper.

The coke bottle and bulb is to be painted from outside with colours matching the theme and the more creative kids can decorate it with endless patterns and turn it to a small tree holder.

Kids can fill the dessert jars with cookies, candies, custard or any of their favourite delicacies and gift it to friends. It’s a fun-time activity and can occupy their free time this festival season. Adult supervision is not much required, unless for stitching.

This box can also be a great gifting idea if you are visiting any of your friends/relatives this Christmas.

The box looks apt for the occasion. I would have wished to also have a small tree and a snowman as DIY along with the box so that it completes the look.

Merry Christmas!
